1. Overview

AheadIQ is a navigation application designed to provide routing, turn-by-turn guidance and information relevant to the road ahead. Some features require location, route context and network access. AheadIQ does not claim that all app data remains only on your device; certain features necessarily send limited request data to third-party service providers.

2. Data AheadIQ may process

Location and route information

AheadIQ may process your current location, movement, heading, speed, destination, waypoints and route-area coordinates to provide navigation, routing, weather, traffic, places and other road-ahead features.

Searches and place information

Search text, place identifiers and related location context may be processed to return places, destinations, fuel, food, lodging, attractions and other points of interest.

Vehicle and tow settings

If you use vehicle or Tow Mode features, AheadIQ may store vehicle and trailer dimensions, weight and related routing preferences on your device and use them when requesting compatible routes.

Saved app data

Saved routes, avoided-road references, preferred-road selections, settings, search history, vehicle profiles and similar preferences may be stored locally on the device.

When you are signed in, AheadIQ may also store phone-calculated trip-counter snapshots in your AheadIQ Cloud profile, including accumulated routed mileage, drive time, estimated fuel use, route count, current or most recent trip statistics, and route start/destination labels. The Android phone is the authoritative writer for these driving statistics; the website displays the synced values.

Local music and audio

If you enable AheadIQ Music, the app may request Android audio/media permission to find and play compatible audio files already stored on your device. Music-library information such as song titles, artists, albums, folders, favorites, playlists, playback history, audiobook positions, bookmarks and player settings may be processed and stored locally on the device. AheadIQ's local music player is designed to operate on device and does not require your audio files to be uploaded to AheadIQ servers.

Billing information

Premium subscription purchases are handled through Google Play Billing. AheadIQ may receive purchase and entitlement status needed to determine access to paid features, but payment-card details are handled by Google Play rather than AheadIQ.

3. Third-party data providers

Depending on the feature you use, AheadIQ may communicate with service providers and public-data services including:

• HERE Technologies — maps, place search, geocoding, routing, traffic, fuel-location information and related location services. Requests may include location or route-area coordinates, destinations, waypoints, search terms and other location context needed to provide the requested feature. AheadIQ also uses the HERE SDK. Technical, non-personal telemetry related to HERE SDK features, map rendering and data usage may be processed by HERE to operate, maintain and improve HERE services and SDK/map performance.
• Xweather — weather alerts and radar-related information. Route-weather features may send selected route coordinates needed to retrieve weather alerts for locations along the route.
• Tripadvisor — selected place metadata, ratings, photos and related place information where available. AheadIQ may send place names, addresses, place identifiers or categories needed to locate the requested Tripadvisor content. AheadIQ does not intentionally forward your AheadIQ account identity to Tripadvisor.
• FBI Crime Data Explorer — public crime-reporting agency and summarized crime-statistics information used by Crime Ahead. AheadIQ first resolves a route location to a jurisdiction and then requests applicable public FBI data using state and reporting-agency information.
• RapidAPI / UCRLens — crime-context information where legacy or supported Crime Ahead provider features use that service. Those provider requests use city/state or national-year lookup information rather than your AheadIQ account identity.
• Google Play — app distribution, subscription billing and entitlement-related purchase processing.

AheadIQ may use its own server as a secure proxy between the app and a provider. This keeps provider credentials out of the Android application and allows AheadIQ to limit the information forwarded to a provider. Authentication information used to sign in to AheadIQ is not intentionally forwarded to the weather, place, mapping or crime-data providers listed above as your AheadIQ identity.

Provider requests may include information reasonably necessary to fulfill the feature, such as coordinates, route areas, search terms, place identifiers, addresses, city/state information or other feature context. Providers may process information according to their applicable privacy terms and service agreements.

4. API conservation and caching

AheadIQ includes Data Saver features, caching and stationary-request guards intended to reduce repeated or unnecessary network calls. Cached durations vary by feature. These controls reduce network activity but do not eliminate requests required for live navigation and current data.

5. Diagnostics and support

AheadIQ can produce privacy-conscious support diagnostics such as app version, Android version, device information, permission state, feature configuration, Tow Mode state, Data Saver state, navigation state and API session counters.

Support diagnostics are designed not to include API keys, precise coordinates, destinations, saved routes or account credentials. If you manually include sensitive information in an email or screenshot, that information will be contained in the message you send.

6. Website data

The AheadIQApp.com website is designed as a static site without advertising cookies or analytics. Hosting and security infrastructure may still process ordinary web request data such as IP address, browser information, timestamps and security logs as part of delivering and protecting the website.

7. Account data and deletion

If you create an AheadIQ account, AheadIQ stores account information needed to authenticate you and provide cloud features, such as your email address, display name, account status, session records and cloud-synced profile data.

You can permanently delete your AheadIQ account from the Account section of the Android app or through the AheadIQ account deletion page. Account deletion removes the account and associated AheadIQ server-side data, including active sessions, cloud profile sections, cloud favorites, saved cloud trips and destinations, and synced trip statistics. Data stored only on your Android device is not remotely erased by account deletion and can be removed through Android app-data controls or by uninstalling AheadIQ.

8. Retention

Local app information remains on your device until removed by the app, overwritten by normal app behavior, cleared through app/device settings, or deleted when the application is removed, subject to Android and backup behavior. Third-party providers may retain request or service data according to their own policies.

9. Your choices

• You can control Android location, notification and audio/media permissions through device settings.
• You can disable or limit certain data-intensive features within AheadIQ where controls are provided.
• You can clear or remove locally saved information through app features where available.
• You can choose not to send support diagnostics.

10. Children

AheadIQ is designed as a navigation utility for drivers and is not directed to children.

11. Security

AheadIQ uses platform and provider security controls appropriate to the services it integrates. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Changes

This policy may be updated as AheadIQ changes. The date at the top of this page will be revised when material updates are made.
